Oscar winning British actor Jeremy Irons was in Athens on occasion of Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday and the 400th anniversary of the death of playwright William Shakespeare. Irons, who was guest of honour of the UK Embassy in Athens, recited a sonnet at the court of the building. The guests had the chance to marvel at the beautiful garden and the interior of the UK Embassy, while the UK national theatre costumes showcased at the Embassy drew the attention of the those present. The talented actor cut a 3-storey cake for the Queen’s birthday with the help of famous Greek culinary chef Stelios Parliaros.
