Panousisgate: Supreme Court prosecutor has names of political persons who threatened former minister

An exclusive interview in Proto Thema made public the death threats against Panousis by political persons from within his own party

Former citizens protection minister Giannis Panousis arrived at the Supreme Court to submit allegations that his life had been threatened by political persons while he served as minister. He met for 15 minutes with Supreme Court Prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani at 11 a.m. on Monday morning where he gave the names of the people with links to terrorist organizations who had reportedly threatened his life.

“I submitted all the information so that the prosecutor can investigate,” he said, underlining that the political system was unable to purge its own “carcinogens”, hence “now is the moment of justice.”

Panousis arrived at the Supreme Court shortly before 11 a.m. accompanied by the Athens Law Association President Vasilis Alexandris.

The allegations were first made public in an interview with Proto Thema newspaper. Panousis states that the National Intelligence Service as Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had been aware of the threats for months.
