It looks like the Amazon but it’s actually the Thyamis River in Northern Greece. Renaissance scholars believed that the English River Thames owes its names to this river as early Celtic tribes migrated from the Epirus region to England… The source of the river is near the village Kalpaki, in the northwestern part of Ioannina, and it flows out into the Ionian Sea. The river is also known as Glykys or Kalamas.
