It is one of the very few in Greece that a river crosses through it, in this case, the river Angitis. It is the second largest cave in the country, after the cave of Diros. About 2,5 km out of a total of 13 km are accessible, while the first 500 meters can be visited. Inside the cave, the temperature is stable at 17°C, while its decoration is dominated by white and red-figured stalactites of various forms.
