Pilot killed after aircraft crash in Thebes (video)

The reasons for the accident remain unclear

A man, 37, was killed after the single-engine aircraft he was flying crashed in Thebes on Saturday afternoon.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.

According to reports, the small, ultra-light single-engine aircraft had given a flight plan to Volos at around 12:30.

Shortly after take-off, however, a problem was reported. In particular, the aircraft allegedly “stalled”, i.e. lost support, and crashed off the airport in an adjacent field.

Shortly before the crash, the pilot, who had experience in flying, was in contact with the Tanagra control tower.

Men from the Fire Service of Thebes rushed to the scene in order to extricate the 37-year-old, who was taken unconscious by an ambulance.

According to information, there was also a fuel leak at the scene.
