Pipeline deal and what it entails

Some information on the cooperative memorandum

The political memorandum signed between Greece and Russia in St. Petersburg may not include a term for down-payment of funds but information points to the fact of 3 billion euro being given early. This is obviously not a memorandum like the one we know and hate, but proof that the two governments have shaken hands and that there is a political will to construct and operate the pipeline with Russian natural gas, which will in turn pass through Greece and will be called “Southern European Pipeline”. The new common company will be contributed to by investors, such as VEBCapital, and the Public Company of Energy Investments S.A. It should be noted that the memorandum agreement is not an international agreement and does not contain any other binding legal documents, nor does it create rights or obligations according to international law.
