Prime Minister Antonis Samaras travels to Rhodes today to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping at noon. The two men will attend a luncheon hosted by the President of the Republic, Karolos Papoulias.

In the afternoon, at 18.00 the PM will meet with his counterpart in the Castle of the Knights and they will walk in the Old Town of Rhodes.

Mr. Samaras will depart for Athens in the evening at 21.00 while Mr. Jinping will stay in the island overnight and will depart for his final destination of Brazil the next day.

It should be noted that the Chinese President had met with the PM last year during Mr. Samaras’ visit in China and stated that he knows a lot about Greece, which he considers the cradle of Western civilization, respectively, as China is for the east.
