PM Tsipras to meet new president of New Democracy

They will discuss social security reforms, the refugee issue, the electoral law and other domestic and foreign issues.

Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras will have his first meeting with newly elected New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Tuesday, at 15:00.

According to information, Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Mitsotakis will discuss social security reforms, the refugee issue, the electoral law and other domestic and foreign issues.

With this meeting they will both attempt to balance between the need of maintaining a communication channel and the desire of each side to set its agenda and impose its strategy.

Mr. Mitsotakis has already made it clear that he won’t give its party consent unconditionally on the crucial issues, except from the process for the Revision of the Constitution.
