POTAMI leader proposes elections on November of 2015

One to one meeting between the President of the Republic and the leader of POTAMI

Mr. Stavros Theodorakis during his meeting with Mr. Karolos Papoulias, proposed elections on November of 2015.

Further, Mr. Theodorakis suggested for all  political parties to agree on elections next year, after of course the election of the new President of the Republic.

He continued by stressing that the new President of the Republic should receive the vote of the majority of the current Parliament members as ” It will be a shame to elect a President with only 120-130 MPs because then no one will respect him enough”.

The POTAMI leader also informed Mr. Papoulias on his party’s positions on national issues.

From his side, the President of the Republic among other, stated that: ” I do hope that we will  have such a majority to elect a President who would be President to all the Greeks and that will keep all Greeks united, since that is the main and essential role of a President who has no particularly great  powers. Everything else will come as we go along”.
