Prime Minister to meet Juncker in Athens

They will discuss about the course of Greek economy, the reforms that must be implemented and the prospect of debt relief

The new European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is expected to visit Greece today and he will then visit the other member states of the EU.

The positive statements made by Mr. Juncker before visiting Greece satisfy the Greek government, which invests heavily on the new European support at this critical point for Greece.

“My priority as president of the European Comission is employment, growth and investment and I am glad that I am visitng Greece to discuss these issues with my friend and colleague Prime Minister Antonis Samaras,” said the new president of the European Commission prior to his arrival in Athens. He also sent a “message of hope and optimism recognizing the efforts of Greek people and Greek government to reform the country.”

Mr. Juncker will meet Prime Minister Antonis Samaras to discuss about the course of Greek economy, the reforms that must be implemented and the prospect of debt relief in accordance with the decision of the Eurogroup in November 2012.

Moreover, the agenda of the new Greek commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos will also be discussed.
