Princess Charlotte’s christening amid excitement (photos)

Crowds gather at the royal Christening

Excitement has built ahead of Princess Charlotte’s christening at St. Mary Magdalene’s Church on Queen’s Sandringham Estate, where the princess’ late grandmother, Princess Diana, was baptized on August 30, 1961.

Crowds gathered outside, unlike Prince George’s christening held inside the Chapel Royal at St. James’s Palace, that had not allowed the public to get a glimpse.

Though Prince Harry was tipped to be among the names for godparents, he was unable to attend the event. The young princess’s godparents are Sophie Carter, James Meade, Adam Middleton, Thomas van Straubenzee and the Honorable Laura Fellowes.
