Russia asks Turkey to pay compensation for downing the Russian jet

Russia has set three conditions so as to overcome the crisis erupted between the two countries

Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov said Russia has set three conditions so as to overcome the crisis that started after Turkey downed a Russian warplane on November 24 claiming that the Russian pilots had violated Turkey’s airspace on its border with Syria, as Hurriyet Daily News reports.

The first condition was the Turkish side to apologize for the downing of the Russian jet which led to the deaths of two Russian soldiers. The second one was the people responsible for this act to be found and held account, whereas the third condition was for Turkey to pay compensation for the damage Russia has come across as a result of the incident.

“If our expectations are not met, Turkey’s other announcements will not pay off,” Karlov said adding “While Turkey announces [a position] in favor of dialogue, it also announces statements that do not fit such an approach,”.
