Ukraine attacked a large Russian oil refinery in a region of Russia belonging to the energy giant Rosneft engulfed in flames. The attack on the refinery located in the city of Ryazan was coordinated by the Intelligence Service of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense (GUR), according to the report.
An official from the GUR, speaking to the Ukrainian newspaper Pravda, stated that a military target in Ryazan, approximately 200 kilometres from the Russian capital, was hit. “There is significant damage, an explosion occurred,” the official said. On the other hand, the Russian Ministry of Defense rushed to confirm that Ukrainian drones attacked several areas in central and southwestern Russia today.

“The Russian air defense forces destroyed and intercepted 6 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, three of which were over the Voronezh region, one over the Ryazan region, one over the Belgorod region, and one over the Kursk region,” the Russian Ministry stated in a release.
Pavel Malkov, the governor of the Ryazan region, stated that there were no casualties or injuries from the attack.
