Russia: We will use nukes if necessary to protect Donbass & surrounding areas, Medvedev said

The West must understand that Russia has chosen its own path and there is no going back, Medvedev said

Former Russian Prime Minister and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, maintained the “nuclear threat” that Putin also spoke of on Wednesday.

According to what he wrote on his Telegram channel, Russia will not hesitate to use “strategic nuclear weapons” if Donbas and other regions of southeastern Ukraine are threatened, after the referendums that have been announced on their annexation to the Russian Federation.

“Russia has announced that not only mobilization capabilities, but also any Russian weapons, including strategic nuclear weapons and weapons based on new technologies, can be used to protect Donbas and other territories after the referendums on their accession to Russia”, Medvedev wrote.
