Russian Foreign Min. Lavrov warns US not to use secret plan in Syria

He accused US of calling on Russia to refrain from bombing Al Nusra front positions in Iraq

Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov warned the US it should not to do anything behind the back of Russia on the Syrian military front. Only a few days after he accused the US of requesting from Russia to avoid bombing Al Nusra front positions in Syria for fear of harming ‘moderate’ groups near the area, Lavrov said the Russian bombing campaign would intensify around the city of Aleppo to consolidate the positions of the Syrian armed forces and prevent the risk of the terrorist groups regaining territory. ‘We will decide how our air raids will operate, depending on the situation’, he said. ‘We expect our partners to cooperate with us with honesty and to not try to use their usual contacts to adopt a plan B, C or D behind our backs’, underlined Lavrov.
