Expected drop in Russian tourists to Cyprus by 30-50%

According to Aghia Napa’s mayor

Aghia Napa mayor Yannis Karousos estimates that Russian tourists visiting Cyprus in 2015 will be reduced by 30-50%.

Karousos took part in the 22nd International Travel and Tourism Exhibition MITT 2015, which took place in Moscow last week.

When called upon to answer if there is something that the Cypriot government could do to alleviate the hit, the mayor said that “the Russian curency’s cost must be absorbed, since it lost 50% of its value and many hoteliers proceeded to therefore lower the prices of their Russian packages”.
