Salah Abdesalam, 8th terrorist, still on the run as huge manhunt unfolds

Captured! The eighth man!

French authorities are scrambling to find Abdesalam Salah, who is believed to have taken part in the Paris attacks. French police reportedly questioned Salah just hours after the deadly rampage, only to let him go. Belgium’s RTL reported on Monday that Salah had been captured after a huge manhunt, however the report was refuted by RTBL that cited sources from the Belgium prosecutor’s office. Police are scouring the Molenbeek district of Belgium that is considered a jihadist “ghetto”. Reports of explosions and a man surrendering led to reports that it may have been the 8th terrorist of the Paris attacks, namely Salah.

Salah, aged 26, a brother of one of the attackers who died is thought to have rented the black Volkswagen Polo used during the attack at Bataclan. Though he was born and lived in Belgium, he is a French antional. He had been stopped close to the border with Belgium following the attacks but was allowed to leave because his name had not been on any wanted list that time. Police say he is dangerous and is believed to be traveling in the direction of the Belgian border.

French police put out a wanted notice for Salah Abdeslam in connection with Friday’s attacks in Paris.
