Schaeuble: ‘Sudden bankruptcy for Greece’?

German FinMin W. Schaeuble told FAZ that he would do all he can to keep Greece in the Eurozone, but… still danger of ‘sudden bankruptcy’

German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble told Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung (FAZ) that Germany wants to keep Greece in the eurozone even though he doesn’t see an agreement on new measures at Monday’s Eurogroup meeting. In the interview to be published on Sunday, Schaeuble signalled the danger for a “sudden bankruptcy” for Greece. Asked about his collaboration with Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis, Schaeuble underlined that they both have “responsibility and work well”. He criticized the media for turning Varoufakis into a super star and now they are undermining him. Schaeuble believes that both are wrong.
