A ship with approximately 200 undocumented migrants on board was spotted adrift in the morning of Friday, 117 nautical miles west-southwest of Pylos.

The vessel was first spotted by Italian authorities that consequently informed the Search and Rescue Center (ESKED) of the Greek Shipping and Aegean Ministry.

Despite the fact that five vessels, sailing at a small distance, rushed to the site, the migrants refused to get on board any ships that would bring them to Greece.

Following negotiations, the vessel with migrants is being towed by a freighter to Sicily.
