Shocking: 7 out of 10 Twin Towers rescuers have cancer!

A heavy price to “pay” while trying to help

New figures have revealed that more than 2,500 rescuers who were the first on the scene following the devastating 9/11 terrorist attack have been diagnosed with cancer.
Last year the number stood at 1,140 but the figures have more than doubled as new cases come forward. Those with cancer include police offecers, firefighters, EMT’s, construction workers, sanitation workers, and volunteers.

The NY Post reporting The World Trade Center Health Program counts 1,655 responders with cancer, bringing the total to 2,518.

According to the World Trade Centre Health Program, at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital of the 37,000 police, rescuers and volunteers, the 1,655 have been diagnosed with cancer.
Many of those affected are seeking compensation for their illnesses from the U.S. government.
