‘Silent’ extension for E1 tax property filing till Sunday

0.73% surcharge penalty on delayed submissions, say sources

According to sources, the interim Finance Ministry has unofficially decided to provide an extension to citizens for the the filing of a specific tax document, the (E1) pertaining to property ownership until Sunday night. The initial deadline had expired Friday, September 4, but chartered accountant sources close to circles in the Finance Ministry say the E1 document can be submitted online through the Taxinet system until Sunday. The only financial ‘penalty’, according to the same sources, will be a 0.73% surcharge on the owed amount, if the clearing statement is a debit one.
