Skourletis: There will be pension cuts!

French President F. Hollande’s comments seen as a positive sign

Environment and Energy Minister Panos Skourletis refered to the statement made by French President Francois Hollande on Thursday in support of Greece. “The louder the voices in Europe, the more things we will do that are not included in the agreement,” he said, adding that never before had there been such a statement made from a person occupying such a high position.

Skourletis said the difficulties of the Greek program were well known even before the national elections. he underlined that the social security system should be reformed and be based on the sense of solidarity. He also admitted that there will be a reduction in pensions but it will be gradual and with the view to protecting those who receive pension up to 1,000 euros.

He claimed that in the last seven months that SYRIZA was government, there were results in the tackling of tax evasion.
