Snowstorm: Greek Prosecutor orders investigation over power black-out in Attica

Some houses remain without electricity 3 days after the snow blizzard

The Athens Court of First Instance ordered a preliminary investigation, following complaints by Greek citizens who remain without electricity even today as a result of the recent snowstorm that hit the country.

The prosecution’s investigation is founded on exploring a possible offense of disturbing a public utility facility after the power outages that are still occurring three days after the intense weather phenomenon that hit Attica and a large part of the country.

According to information, many Greeks called the prosecutor’s office to complain that even today they are still without electricity, trapped inside their homes in extremely low temperatures.

They said because of the situation they are unable to meet their basic needs, such as heating or food.
