Standard & Poor’s Financial Services LLC on Friday published a timeline of the country’s debt crisis to remind us of how debt spiralled out of control

Standard and Poor’s Ratings Services presented a timeline of Greece’s debt crisis. Eurozone governments and the IMF bailed out Greece in 2011. Since then, the situation has worsened with an even greater rescue package in 2012. By January 2015, austerity had crippled a large part of the nation bringing the Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) party to power.

Key statistics on Greece based on 2015 figures show -1.5% real GDP growth and a primary budget deficit of 0.1%.
