Swedish football team saved by last minute plane change

“We were supposed to be on that plane”

The tragic crash of Airbus A320 in mountainous terrain in southeastern France cost the lives of 150 people including 16 students and two infants.
Swedish football team Dalkurd FF from Borlaenge, in central Sweden, was booked to fly home to Sweden on the budget carrier after a trip to Catalonia.
However, their lucky stars made them change their traveling arrangements.
On arrival to the Barcelona airport they decided to avoid the long wait and so they re-booked themselves onto three other flights flying via Zurich and Munich and saved their lives.
“We were supposed to be on that plane”, said sporting director Adil Kizil
“There were four planes that left around the same time and that flew north over the Alps. Four planes and we had players on three of them. You can say we were very, very lucky,” he said.
Germans, Spaniards, probably Turks, and at least one Belgian national are believed to be among the dead.
