Today’s meeting took place at the offices of DIMAR in Parliament and, as pointed out by Mr. Theocharopoulos and Mr. Vitsas, the hot topic of the election of the new President of the Republic was discussed, but without it being a prerequisite for dialogue.

SYRIZA expressed the already known position of the party that the initiative to engage in the election of the President of the Republic seeks to overthrow the current government and the harsh memorandum which implements its policies while the delegation of DIMAR stressed that this issue is not of this and will be discussed at the appropriate time, as a matter of wider policy debate, not only of the two parties.

Both delegations of DIMAR and SYRIZA spoke of the 12 points stated in the letter of Fotis Kouvelis and the 9 replies by Alexis Tsipras respectively and which in some of them both parties agree and the possibility of a joint action in social and parliamentary level was examined, such as in the subjects of forest, seashore, immigrants etc.
