SYRIZA prepares for the announcements to be made at Thessaloniki International Fair

The latest measure that SYRIZA discusses is to restore the 13th and 14th pension

The integrated government program of the main opposition party SYRIZA is not ready yet, but party’s leadership has decided on how its president Alexis Tsipras will appear at Thessaloniki International Fair: with a series of promises and announcements for immediately restoring the injustices made during memorandum period.

Mr. Tsipras will try to win the audience during a very critical political period and overcome any promises that will be announced by Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.

SYRIZA will attempt to justify its promises and announcements by saying that this is not the whole government program of the party but these concern immediate relief measures, many of which have no financial burden, such as restoring the basic salary to 751 euros.

The latest measure that SYRIZA discusses is to restore the 13th and 14th pension, for which, though, sufficient sources must be gathered, since the party has also promised to restore the lowest pensions.

However, there is a risk of seeing Mr. Tsipras announcing relief measures in a populist way, which might further enhances the strong criticism made by the government which accuses SYRIZA of selling easy solutions and misleading the angry and discontented citizens.
