The well-known actor Elias Logothetis has died at the age of 85.

The news of the death of Ilias Logothetis was made known a short while ago by his son, also an actor, Alexandros Logothetis, who in an instastory wrote on a black image “Goodbye blue eyes”.

The news spread sadness in the theatre and film industry where the great actor had a long career.

His life and work

He was born in Lefkada. He did not think of pursuing acting as he was more attracted to opera.

He was a graduate of the Political Science Department of Panteion University.

He came into contact with the theatre through the Karolos Koun Art Theatre, from which he graduated in 1967, and took part in many theatre performances. He first appeared in the cinema in 1970, in the play “Babylonia”.

He became known mainly in comic roles through his participation in television and cinema. In 2000 he received positive reviews from Harold Pinter for his performance in the play “Dead Zone”.

He has collaborated with of Yannis Fertis-Xenia Kalogeropoulou, Kakia Analitis-Kosta Rigopoulos, Nikos Xanthopoulos, Thanasis Vengos, Angelos Antonopoulos-Miranta Kounelakis, Spyros Evaggelatos Amphitheatre, etc.

He participated in many theatre plays on television in the well-known “Theater of Monday” (ERT1). He has also taken part in musical performances, such as the tribute to Michalis Sougioul.

His wife is the actress Maria Zacharis and his son Alexandros Logothetis, who also followed acting.
