The X-ray of the vote in the Parliament – The 176 yes, the no, the present and the abstentions

MP Voridis abstained, as well as Deputy Ministers Keletsi, Bougas, and Kefala

 

The bill for the marriage of same-sex couples was just voted on in the Parliament through a roll-call vote.

A total of 254 MPs voted; 176 voted “yes”, 76 voted “no,” and 2 were present.

Among the “yes” votes were 107 MPs from New Democracy, 31 abstentions, and 20 “no” votes.

MP Voridis abstained, as well as Deputy Ministers Keletsi, Bougas, and Kefala.

There were 11 abstentions from PASOK. The two minority MPs from New Left were absent as well.

From SYRIZA, only Pavlos Polakis was absent, while from PASOK, none opposed the bill, though 11 MPs abstained.

New Left and Course of Freedom voted in favor of the bill, while Greek Solution, Spartans, and Niki voted against.

Independent MP Areti Papaioannou voted against the bill, while independent MP Michalis Chourdakis voted “present.”
