The sea mine was found by accident on February 1st

 

The WWII sea mine that was found on Thursday, February 1st, in the northern part of Moudania was neutralized by experts from the Hellenic Navy’s Underwater Demolition Unit this morning.

Please note that the mine had been located at a depth of 5 meters and 350 meters from the shore, by the skipper of a fishing diving boat. It was immediately marked with a floating buoy by the Hellenic Coast Guard. Then the Hellenic Navy was called in and 6 experts from the Greek SEALs unit arrived in Moudania, who took all safety measures and at 2.00 pm they destroyed it with explosives.
