The caretaker government has as its sole responsibility the conduct of the following elections

The political leaders of the parties that succeeded in entering the Parliament in Sunday’s elections came to the Presidential Palace in order to take part in the meeting called for by the President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou after the process of investigative orders were proven to be fruitless.

The first to arrive, approximately 10 minutes before 11, was the president of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, who was led to the place where the meeting will take place.

The second political leader to arrive at the Presidential Palace a few minutes later was the president of Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, who shook hands with Alexis Tsipras before taking his seat at the table.

About five minutes before 11 o’clock, PASOK’s president, Nikos Androulakis, passed through the gate of the Presidential Palace, accompanied by PASOK’s press representative, Dimitris Manzos, and the director of his press office, Stefania Mourelatou. Before taking his seat, Mr. Androulakis shook hands with both Mr. Velopoulos and Alexis Tsipras.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Alexis Tsipras, Nikos Androulakis, Dimitris Koutsoumbas and Kyriakos Velopoulos sat around a table with Katerina Sakellaropoulou to reach the solution of the caretaker government with the greatest possible acceptance, which as sole responsibility will have the conduct of the following elections, probably on June 25.

It was preceded by the receipt and return of the investigative order, initially by Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on Monday, and then by Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis, on Tuesday, with a difference of a few hours.

The chairman of the Court of Auditors, Ioannis Sarmas, as the most senior supreme judge, is expected to be placed in the position of acting Prime Minister, with his swearing-in scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday.
