The State Department approved the sale of 40 F-35 to Greece

Greek PM: “highlights and seals the strategic depth of the Greek-American relations”

The US State Department has approved the sale of 40 F-35 fighter jets to Greece for $8.6 billion. The US government has given the green light to the sale of 20+20 F-35 fighter jets to Greece, along with the sale of 40 F-16s, around 80 modernization kits and a big number of missiles and guided bombs to Turkey for $23 billion.

The deal in question was discussed at the recent appointment of the two men at the house of the Greek Prime Minister in Chania.

It is noted that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the day as important for Greece’s national defense and Greek diplomacy in his statement on the occasion of the approval of Greece’s participation in the F-35 program.

The Greek Prime Minister who received the letter from the Secretary of State of the United States Anthony Blinken emphasizes that this way “highlights and seals the strategic depth of the Greek-American relations”.
