Turkey sabotages Russia-West cooperation efforts

Turkey didn’t like seeing the West wanting to cooperate with Russia in order to destroy ISIS fighters

Turkey sabotages the efforts of Russia and West to find a common ground and cooperate against the Islamic State, mentions international media citing political analysts.

It is noted that Turkey did not like at all the fact that US President Barack Obama discussed with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to develop a common strategy in order to fight Islamic State.

French newspaper Le Figaro writes that Turkey sabotages the international coalition against the Islamic State, while Deutsche Welle stresses that Turkish government sabotages the efforts of French President Francois Hollande to rally the international community against ISIS militants.

US former senator and political analyst James Jatras argues that after the attacks in Paris, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is a staunch supporter of Islamic State and the terrorist organization al-Nusra and wants to overthrow Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria, didn’t like seeing the West wanting to cooperate with Russia in order to destroy ISIS fighters.

There might not be strong evidence that Turkish government is helping ISIS but its relaxed attitude regarding the border checks definitely works in favor them,  political analysts point out.
