After the tragedy that plunged Turkey into grief, Erdogan announced that the relatives of the dead miners in Somma will receive state benefits and will be able to be recruited in the public sector.

As mentioned by Turkish publications, the dead will be qualified as “martyrs”, a term used for victims of terrorist attacks.

At the same time, the amount of the payment to be given to the victims’ families, will be set next week, and it will be received every month.

As the Turkish PM stated, he wants the process to be carried out rapidly and efficiently.

Meanwhile, several businessmen have offered to cover the costs of educating the children of the deceased, while banks intend to “delete” the debts of the borrowers if they belong in the family of a deceased miner.
