Turkey violates Greek airspace 60 times in the Aegean Sea

55 violations were by UAVs

The Turks carried out a series of air space violations against Greece on Monday (10/10), continuing its aggressive stance in the Aegean Sea.

Specifically, as reported by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (HNDGS), four pairs of Turkish F-16 fighters, two Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), and an ATR-72 (electronic warfare aircraft) committed 12 infringements of air traffic rules in the Athens FIR and 60 violations of Greek airspace.

Of the 60 violations, 5 were by fighter jets, while 55 were by UAVs.

None of the Turkish aircraft were armed and no engagement with Greek aircraft occurred.

The areas in which violations and infringements were recorded were in the North-East, Central, and South-East Aegean.
