A Cypriot taxi driver from Ayia Napa was struck with rocks by two young Russian tourists at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The driver refused to drive the two 24-yearolds because they were intoxicated and they retaliated with stone throwing.
Initially, the two young women tried to board a bus, but were refused entry due to their drunkedness. The taxi driver noticed that they were holding rocks and reportedly informed the second bus driver of this fact, resulting in a second refusal.
They turned against the taxi driver and struck him in the head and damaged his car. First aid was offered to the taxi driver and the Russian girls ended up being escorted from the bus drop in a police car.
This is not the first time that young foreign tourists have behaved badly at Ayia Napa, a popular beach area that is popular amongst a young bawdy set of tourists.
