UEFA reportedly moves Champions League final from St.Petersburg

It will be held in Paris

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has brought cataclysmic developments to the world of football. UEFA, as reported by the Times, has already decided not to hold the final of the Champions League (28/05) on Russian soil and in fact, moved it instead to the “Parc des Princes ” in Paris.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin contacted French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday and the two discussed the readiness of the city of light to host the most important match of the Champions League for the current season.

The move came after letters from the European Parliament, but also from governments asking UEFA to exclude all Russian cities from any football event and to end all forms of sponsorship with Gazprom, one of the main sponsors of the Champions League.
