Labour MP Jo Cox has been shot and stabbed at her advice surgery in West Yorkshire, her office has confirmed. Reports say the gunman is still at large.
West Yorkshire Police are attending a major ongoing incident in Birstall near the city of Leeds in northern England.
Reports suggest a woman, now believed to be Labour MP Jo Cox, has been shot and stabbed near the local library.

She has been head of policy for Oxfam, national chair of the Labour Women’s Network, a senior advisor to the Freedom Fund, an anti-slavery charity, and is currently Chair of the Friends of Syria All-Party Parliamentary Group.
Reports on social media suggest the area has been taped off, and armed police have been deployed.
