A man from Ohio burst into tears on Tuesday after hearing his not guilty verdict. The today 56 year old Kwame Ajamu, after spending 27 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit is the third man acquitted of charges of robbery with murder, at a money exchange in Cleveland in 1975.
After the verdict the 56 year old Ajamu stated: ” thrilled that this battle was completed” while wiping his tears and thanking his wife and his lawyers.
The other two accused were released from jail last month.
All three men were set free following the eye witness recalling his original statement, since according to him he was carried away by the police officers who were pushing him at the time.
It is worth mentioning that the today free man was originally sentence to death but he was never executed due to bureaucracy.
