Vile! Another instance of dead horses reported – this time in NW Greece

Local residents have warned that certain farmers take a grim view of the horses, which number around 25 and are divided into three herds

A second shocking instance of dead horses surfaced on Friday when residents in the mountainous Papigo region of Ioannina prefecture, NW Greece, reported the discovery of two carcasses of wild horses.

The incident comes after authorities said 28 horses were discovered in the Ziria region of mountainous Corinth prefecture, in southern Greece. The latter were felled with shotguns, while a cause of death has not been ruled in the first instance.

The white horses in Papigo, a stunning region of remote cliffs, ravines and snow-capped mountains, were part of a wild herd in the area. An attack by a wolf pack or bears has also not been ruled out.

Nevertheless, local residents have warned that certain farmers take a grim view of the horses, which number around 25 and are divided into three herds.
