Discrepancies revealed after Dep. FinMin publishes new circular

A revised circular on employees’ monthly salaries released revealed a discrepancy between staff in the state sector. Deputy Finance Minister George Chouliarakis was compelled to issue the new circular regarding the monthly wages of employees in the public sector, after the confusion caused by the previous one. The new guidelines revealed that large discrepancy between the starting salaries of new public sector employees, who receive 780 Euros per month, and those of revocable employees who get up to 4,631 Euros per month! The revocable employees are essentially the Greek government’s chosen general secretaries or advisors ‘planted’ in various state organisations and the wider in public sector.
