Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan sent a new message as the war continues in the Gaza Strip. Contrary to Western rhetoric and while Hamas terrorists have killed at least 600 Israelis, he spoke of the need to create a Palestinian state “based on the 1967 borders and with Jerusalem as its capital”.
Specifically, the Turkish president said, “The formation of an independent, geographically integrated Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders and with Jerusalem as its capital cannot be delayed.”
“Turkey is ready to mediate to end the conflict and de-escalate the tension,” he added, trying to show that it is ready to play the role of a mediator.
