People are often concerned about how radiation exposure may be affecting their health.

It’s true that extreme exposure can do terrible things to your body, but most of the radiation we absorb is in trace amounts from unexpected sources.

The video produced by Alex Kuzoian for Business Insider compares some of the common sources of radiation in our everyday life and reveals some surprises. For example, living within 80 km (50 miles) of a nuclear power plant exposes you to less radiation than an airport scanner, or a banana.
