Italian authorities informed Greece of yet another Greek victim on late Friday night.

According to the official information the name of the third victim who was added to the unfortunate list is Gerasimos Kazantzidis.

The total victims of Norman Atlantic reach the eleven.

The names of the other two Greek victims are Nikos Parashis and Kostas Fotopoulos, while Giorgos Doulis is still missing.

What does the Greek Coast Authorities reply to the Italian accusations of the Italian prosecutor and captain of Norman Atlantic

Just a few hours after the allegations and accusations of the Italian prosecutor who visited in Brindisi the Norman Atlantic ship and accused Greece for the chaos created with the passengers lists, but also the statements of the Captain of the ship who spoke about Greek delays, the Greek Coast authorities gave to publicity documents which answer to all categories of Italians and shoot down the allegations

Specifically, the Greek Coast authorities released the detailed history files of the initial actions of the Coordination Center for Research and Rescue Headquarters immediately after being informed about the fire incident on the ship, until the time when it was possible to communicate for the first time with the Captain of Norman Atlantic and including all written correspondence of the passenger list.

According to the Coast authorities the passenger and crew member lists were forwarded promptly to the Italian side (MRCC / ROME), immediately after they were received by the authorized person company (Designated Person Ashore / DPA) which is responsible for the safe management of operations and procedures of the ship.

Furthermore, as the correspondence proves, it seems that at 11:40 the Ministry informed the Italian authorities of the ship’s tonnage and the list of passengers.

Italian Prosecutor: Greece is responsible for the chaos with Norman Atlantic’s passenger list

He entered the ship and stated that it is possible that there are bodies in the garage and added that our country functions “in a very slow paste” and has not presented a reliable passenger list

During his visit to the ship, the Italian prosecutor was unable to get to the garage area due to safety reasons, however he left spikes against Greece regarding the passenger list and spoke of the possibility for bodies in the garage.

While speaking to journalists, he said that the black box has been found and more or less accused Greece for the chaos with the number of passengers onboard.

According to him “the black box of the ship was recovered and seized and now will proceed carefully processing the data”.

As far as the number of missing passengers concerns, according to the Italian prosecutor the optimistic estimate is 10 and that in any case the number will not exceed the 15.
