Answering to a curious Athenian about the question of marriage, Greek philosopher Socrates supposedly replied that: “Whether a man marries or remains single he will regret it”. Ancient Greece being largely a male-dominated society, Socrates’ purported piece of wisdom referred to men. But what about women? What makes them stay single or decide to get married? According to scientific research not all women are ‘cut out’ for marriage. Specific females have certain qualities that do not aid them in maintaining a lasting relationship.

1. Unrealistic expectations

If you set the bar for the man of your life too high then you are bound to be disappointed. You can’t a find super male model with the brains of Einstein. It juts won’t happen. Wake up.

2. Being a ‘pushover’ at the start of a relationship

If you behave like the perfect partner and friend at the start of a relationship believing you will be loved for it, think again. This is not the best tactic to stay in a long-term relationship. After a while you will tire of playing your role, it is only natural. But when that moment comes your better half will not recognize the woman he first met. He will ‘revolt’, wondering where that person he took for granted has gone. Follow a more reserved tactic and give little at a time.

3. Chameleon

You turn into a vegetarian, if he is one. You love rock music because he does, or you like camping to fit in to his hobbies. He has tattoos, so you go out and get one. When you do whatever your partner does, then you are not on a way for a long relationship. Chameleon type women might actually be in relationships but theybrarely end up marrying.
