The small island of Kastelorizo was the base from where Andrew Liveris’ began his successful international career. Following the example of Odysseus, after conquering the world via his achievements, he decided to return to the island of his ancestors, the amazingly beautiful Kastelorizo, to celebrate his 60th birthday .
The Greek tycoon, after establishing himself as a successful businessman in Australia where his ancestors had immigrated, he set out to conquer America as the head of one of the biggest chemical companies on the planet – Dow Chemical Company. He soon learned the tricks of politics, since the notions of ‘business’ and ‘politics’ were always intertwined in his resourceful mind and agenda.
Today Andrew Liveris is an adviser to President Obama on matters of industry and development, a role which he also served in the past, when he was offering his valuable advice to Democratic President Bill Clinton. This is why the former global leader arrived a few days ago in the easternmost point of Greece to celebrate the birthday of his good friend.
Among the rich and famous gracing the party were the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras, the President of France Francois Hollande, CEOs of Coca Cola and IBM, the richest entrepreneurs of Mexico and Argentina, multi-millionaires from the USA, as well as many noted Europeans.
