The alleged perpetrator seems to be the long-term convict Vasilis Varelas
Convicted November 17 terrorist Christodoulos Xiros was attacked and injured by a fellow prisoner on Friday at a maximum prison outside the central Greece town of Domokos.
According to reports, he was badly injured in the face and was immediately taken to the infirmary, where he lost consciousness.
Xiros’ lawyer confirmed the attack and claimed that his client did not report the incident or ask for protection from guards.
