A 52 year old man from Athens has been arrested by the Cyber crime police on charges of disseminating child pornography online. The man’s online trace was tracked through a 2015 investigation by German authorities on per to per file sharing (P2P) of child pornography. Following the detection of the man’s online address, the Greek Justice issued an injunction allowing Greek police to make a positive identification of the man’s online address. Meanwhile, the ongoing probe revealed that the online provider offered the accused man the ability to use the line. During searches on the man’s premises, police found 3 internal hard-drives, 3 external drives, 3 mobile storage drives and a lap top containing thousands of files with child pornography. The seized digital data will be sent to Criminal Investigation Department for further examination. The 52 year old man had been involved in similar crimes in the past.
