The British artist, Poppy Jackson, sat naked on the top of a London rooftop for four hours as a piece of performance art.
The performance is titled ‘Site’ and ‘investigates questions relating to temporality, the body in site, representation and gender through consideration of the use of the body in performance as an activist practice’, as it is mentioned at the artist’s website.
Poppy Jackson was photographed straddling the gable of Toynbee Studios, in east London yesterday afternoon. Her performance attracted the attention of many passers-by, who took photos and shared them to social media. They reported that Ms Jackson took a couple of breaks during the piece.
Raquel Rodrigues, 29, was one of those who photographed the unusual scene and said that the artist was visible from the street. She added: ‘I don’t know how she got away with it – if I was walking around naked I’d be arrested.’
