Alternate Finance Minister Christos Staikouras stated on Friday that the government must act responsibly to avoid undermining the huge sacrifices made by the Greek people.

Mr. Staikouras said that the Greek government has taken all necessary measures and initiatives in order to find realistic solutions for the public debt’s viability.

Addressing an event in the Greek city of Larissa on The solution for public debt and the potential for growth, he underlined that the troika of the country’s lenders are exerting great pressure on Greece and insists on extreme measures. However, he said, the Greek government’s decisions will guarantee the country’s fiscal targets are met.
